Every blogger knows the value great pictures add to a post. We have learned (thanks Jessi) the importance of using well-crafted photos on social media to attract followers & build our brands.
But most of us don’t want to spend hours searching for the perfect photo. And typically we haven’t taken years of photography courses to know how to properly operate a camera.
Fortunately for us, today’s podcast guest, Amy Locurto, is sharing some great tips on what “not” to do when styling your photos. While sharing common mistakes, she ends up giving us some pretty great pointers.
It makes sense she has such awesome advice, given her fabulous background in graphic design and photography. You should definitely check out her bio (she’s pretty talented, y’all). What we chat about:
- Amy’s transition into blogging from graphic design.
- The unique way Amy met her “I Heart Faces” business partner.
- How Instagram (and other social media) changed their business model.
- Common mistakes people make in photo styling.
- Best time of day to take pictures–tips for lighting.
- The effect of bringing the subject forward away from background.
- The visual impact of de-cluttering your pictures.
- Importance of choosing your photography style & brand.
