There is a shift happening. Do you feel it? The media space is changing. While writing, podcasting, speaking, and social media are still prevalent in the Christian world, we are all a little tiresome. We are longing for more. Not more work, per say. More depth.
You have a message. God designed each of us to communicate His holy grace to the world in our own unique way. We are all on some kind of journey on when and how to share the love of Jesus. For a lot of us, the journey has turned into something we never intended. Some good. Some bad. We are discovering that maybe, just maybe, it is time to pull back and reevaluate.
Platform living is not sustainable. The world tells us we are not relevant unless we have a following. Whether it be numbers of followers on Instagram, subscribers to our podcast, or email addresses for our newsletter, we feel like we have to keep up the numbers game in order to have a voice. We strive to keep up with the algorithm because that is the only way to get the message God gave us out into the world. Yet, we are exhausted, worn out, and tired of chasing the dream.
Platform living is not sustainable.
What if your message matters no matter the size of the following?
What if the gifts God gave you were only meant for the few before you?
What if the algorithm and number of followers had nothing to do with your worth?
What if?
Your message, the one God gave you, was never intended to chase the ways of this world. The most powerful tool you have to get the word out about Jesus is living the life right in front of you. You have a message without a platform. You don’t even have to try. Just live the life right in front of you. Think about it: What is more powerful than dropping the chase of algorithms and followings and living with the people God brings before you each day? Can you imagine how quickly the life-saving message of grace would grow if we all started living for this life instead of the one behind our screens or microphones?
There is nothing wrong with what we do. God has provided us tools to enhance our ability to share the Gospel. That is a gift. However, what we do with it and how we use those tools matter. I believe many of us are asking: What would happen if I let it be small? My message and purpose would not shrink. God’s power in and through me would not diminish. He is known to do much with little. So, we ask you…
What if we let it be small?
